Fall 2009 Preview
The
LongShots 2009 Spring season came and went rather
quickly. It was a rough season to look back on as there
were several injuries along the way. Most of the
games were hard fought and well played. The defense
looked solid throughout the season minus a game here or
there. There were eight games decided by two runs or
less, and one game lost in extra innings. The rebuilding
season that it was is behind us now as we look forward to
turning it on for the upcoming fall season. The recent
additions to the roster should help fill the holes
voided by injuries and departing players.
News & Notes: Torres suffered a Large Labrum tear
and will require surgery in the winter. Recovery time
after surgery is expected to take up to 8 Months which
means he will most likely be done for the 2010 season as
well. Fellow
middle infielder Vargas' injury doesn't appear to be as
serious but will sit the season out and rehab his
injury.
